Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4 ounces smoked salmon, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped red onion
  • 1 tablespoon capers, drained and chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Crackers, bagel chips, or vegetable sticks for serving

Instructions

  1. Place the softened cream cheese in a medium bowl.
  2. Add the chopped smoked salmon, sour cream, lemon juice, red onion, capers, fresh dill, and black pepper to the bowl.
  3. Use a fork or an electric mixer on low speed to combine all ingredients until the mixture is smooth and well blended. Do not overmix.
  4. Taste the dip and adjust seasoning if needed.
  5. Cover the bowl and chill the smoked salmon dip in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Serve cold with your choice of crackers, bagel chips, or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, use high-quality cold-smoked salmon.
  • If you prefer a smoother texture, you can blend the dip in a food processor.
  • Substitute fresh dill with chives for a slightly different herb note.
  • This dip is excellent served alongside smoked salmon crostini components.
