Make this rich and creamy Million Dollar Pie, a classic Southern dessert that requires no oven time. It features a buttery graham cracker crust filled with a sweet, fluffy mixture of pineapple and pecans.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed (like Cool Whip)
  • 1 cup crushed pineapple, well drained
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans, plus extra for topping

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: Mix the graham cracker crumbs and melted butter in a bowl until combined. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch pie plate. Place the crust in the freezer while you prepare the filling.
  2. Make the filling base: In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Gradually beat in the sweetened condensed milk until fully incorporated and creamy.
  3. Fold in the remaining ingredients: Gently fold in the thawed whipped topping, the well-drained crushed pineapple, and the 1/2 cup of chopped pecans. Mix just until combined; do not overmix.
  4. Assemble the pie: Spoon the filling evenly into the chilled graham cracker crust. Smooth the top with a spatula.
  5. Chill: Cover the pie loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until firm. This chilling time is essential for setting the pie.
  6. Serve: Before serving, sprinkle the top with extra chopped pecans. Slice and serve cold.

Notes

  • Drain the crushed pineapple very well. Excess liquid will prevent the filling from setting properly. Press the pineapple between paper towels to remove as much moisture as possible.
  • You can substitute walnuts for pecans if you prefer a different nut flavor.
  • For an extra rich flavor, you can toast the graham cracker crumbs lightly before mixing them with the butter.
