Make this creamy, cheesy egg toast in your air fryer for a protein-packed breakfast that is ready in minutes. This recipe combines the ease of air frying with the rich flavor of ricotta.

Ingredients

  • 2 slices sourdough bread
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 1 ounce shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon butter, softened
  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of black pepper

Instructions

  1. Lightly spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk the egg with salt and pepper.
  3. Spread the ricotta cheese evenly over the unbuttered side of one slice of bread.
  4. Sprinkle the cheddar cheese over the ricotta layer.
  5. Pour the whisked egg over the cheese layer, letting it soak slightly into the bread.
  6. Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side facing out.
  7. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  8. Carefully place the assembled toast sandwich into the air fryer basket.
  9. Air fry for 6 to 8 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and gooey.
